Over the last few years, sustainability at Chorus has evolved from a commitment into a working system.
What started as a conversation about responsibility has become something much more practical: a way of designing projects, making decisions and continuously improving how we work.
Today we are sharing our 2026/27 Sustainability Policy.
This year's policy brings together everything we've been building over the last four years. It reflects the systems, behaviours and accountability that now sit behind our approach, from our Sustainable Event Management System (SEMS) and monthly Sustainability Roundtables through to project impact tracking, supplier engagement and operational carbon reporting.
Most importantly, it shows how sustainability is becoming part of how the work gets done.
Over the past 12 months we've:
Reduced operational emissions by 67.7% against our 2024 baseline following methodology improvements
Achieved a 40% reduction in average project emissions across comparable project categories
Embedded sustainability into our Critical Path and delivery processes
Introduced real-time monitoring of wins, issues and non-conformities
Continued to strengthen transparency across our projects, supply chain and reporting
The policy also reflects a belief that has become increasingly important to us: sustainability isn't just about reporting results. It's about creating better systems, making informed decisions earlier, and building a culture that learns from both successes and challenges.
We're proud of the progress we've made, but we're even more interested in what's next.
As our industry continues to grapple with the realities of Net Zero, supply chain emissions and evolving client expectations, we believe the next chapter will be defined by better data, greater accountability and more practical action.
This policy is our latest step on that journey.
